HOUSING SUPPORT OFFICER
Search Consultancy are looking for Housing Support Officers, to provide various forms of support to our vulnerable customers helping them live as comfortably and independently as possible.
You will be working with vulnerable services users such as :
- People experiencing homelessness
- Refugees
- Prison leavers
- People with mental health issues
- People with physical disabilities
- Care leavers
- Survivors of domestic abuse and trafficking
- Adults at Risk
It is essential you have at least 6 months UK Based experience working in a similar role.
PURPOSE OF ROLE:
* To provide assistance to customers with learning difficulties/disabilities and mental health issues, supporting their needs and helping them live independently.
* To work as part of a team to manage high quality accommodation, ensuring the safe running of the building, taking the lead on health & safety responsibilities.
* To maintain the security and safety of customers, colleagues, visitors, contractors as well as the premises, and equipment.
* To act as a first point of contact for the premises, this includes responding to all enquiries via phone, email or in person.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To ensure safeguarding concerns are dealt with accordingly, and appropriate action is taken
* To record and report any concerns about any customer(s) welfare in accordance with the correct processes;
* To provide assistance and guidance to our customers; supporting them to manage their own support needs as well as develop their independent living skills
* To take appropriate immediate action in emergency situations this includes contacting the necessary emergency services and effectively deescalating the situation
* To appropriately ensure the building is secure
* To ensure the health & safety of the building by completing relevant checks, this includes fire alarm testing and being able to identify and report communal repairs
* To ensure all cleaning duties of all communal areas and void properties are carried out, once a customer has moved out
* To take part in training and team meetings
* To adhere to all working practices and relevant guidelines in our Independence and well being framework
* To prepare meals such as breakfast and dinner for a small number of customers daily.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
* Experience of providing a customer facing, front line service in a fast and busy environment
* Experience/awareness of safeguarding
* Experience of lone working and using own initiative
* Experience of working in a customer focused environment
* Awareness of Health & Safety best practice and issues
* Experience of cleaning and housekeeping
* Experience of working with service users
