Job Description: Housing Support Worker

Weekly Hours: 28 Hours
Work Pattern: Mon-Sun (Rolling Rota)
Job Summary:
As an Housing Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing housing-related support to vulnerable individuals. Your primary objective is to achieve successful move-ons and measurable outcomes, empowering service users to attain independence. This includes maximizing rent collection, submitting welfare benefit claims, and taking proactive measures to minimize rent arrears.
Responsibilities:
- Engage with referral agencies to generate referrals, collaborating with local authorities and voluntary sector agencies.
- Ensure properties are well-equipped, maintained, furnished, and cleaned to the required standards.
- Develop effective support and safety plans, collaborating with specialist agencies when necessary.
- Record, monitor, review, and update progressions/outcomes regularly and in line with contract requirements.
- Issue and enforce correct tenure and support agreements, taking appropriate action for noncompliance.
- Empower and motivate service users to identify and achieve desired outcomes, involving them in decisions affecting them.
- Develop move-on plans with service users, identifying realistic options for independent or more suitable housing.
- Support service users in undertaking domestic tasks and provide practical assistance as needed.
Experience:
- Work experience in a pressurized office environment, supporting a wider team and ensuring quality customer care.
- Dealing with a diverse and vulnerable clientele, understanding the importance of achieving performance targets.
- Providing high levels of customer care with a focus on attention to detail and accurate recording.
- Proficient in using a wide range of IT systems, including databases, spreadsheets, and word documents.
Additional Requirements:
Enhanced DBS check will be required.
Working Hours:
This role operates on a 4-week rota, averaging 28 hours per week:
Week 1: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri (8am - 4pm)
Week 2: Wed, Sat, Sun (8am - 4pm)
Week 3: Mon, Tue, Thur, Fri (2.30pm - 10.30pm)
Week 4: Wed, Sat, Sun (2.30pm - 10.30pm)
This role is part of a 24-hour rota, and there can be no flexibility in the shift pattern.
