Housing Support Worker (Bramble Court)

Here at Peabody, we have several opportunities for the role of Housing Support Worker (Bramble Court) on a Permanent basis at our scheme in Witham, Bramble Court.

Bramble Court is part of Peabody's young person's service in Essex, a supported housing scheme for single homeless individuals aged 16-21 years, including care leavers, medium to high level support needs. .

The accommodation consists of 9 hostel rooms and 15 one bedroom self contained properties. The scheme is supervised 7 days, 24 hours per day.

Closest transport link is Witham train station, which is approximately 15-20 minute walk from the train station.

• Have you got the life skills and experience it takes to support young people in their journey towards independent living?

• Could you plan and deliver activities which are fun and meaningful and help move our young customers closer to their goals?

• Are you an enthusiastic Support Worker with a strong desire to work with vulnerable and complex young people to achieve positive outcomes?

• Can you work just as effectively as part of a team as you can by yourself?

A bit about the role:

As aHousing Support Worker (Bramble Court), you will be working with a team of highly motivated,compassionate, and dedicated colleagues supporting a caseload of young customers. You’ll need to meet each customer weekly to help them with their goals and discuss their progress. And, when someone’s ready to move on, we'll rely on you to help them access the housing register or look for suitable rented accommodation.

Relevant experience would be an advantage, as would an understanding of safeguarding and knowledge of the benefit system. But just as important may well be skills and knowledge which you have in other areas which you can share like sport, music, games, gardening, or a love of film. All these things would make you a great addition to the Peabody Young People Essex's team!

This role will require an Enhanced DBS check.

Interviews will take place between week commencing the 18 and 25 March.
