An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the UK People Team as People Advisor.
The role will be based at our custom built, state of the art, fulfilment centre and offices located in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. Flexibility is also required to travel to other locations based in Hertfordshire and Surrey from time to time.
About the job:
Reporting directly to the Site People Partner, you will provide generalist support on all people policies and procedures, with a consistent approach to line managers and employees to ensure delivery of an effective and professional people service. You will deal with a variety of employee relations issues, guiding managers through their queries around absence management, grievances, disciplinaries, new starter reviews, probations, poor performance, employment law queries etc.
Main responsibilities:
- Responsible for providing a professional advisory service to line managers and employees on all employment related matters.
- Lead end to end case management for employee relations cases with a focus on performance, disciplinary, grievance, and absence management.
- Provide Line Managers with advice and guidance on a range of employment matters including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management issues and other relevant casework.
- Point of contact for HR queries.
- Responsible for delivering actions from Colleague Forums and Engagement Surveys.
- Upskilling Management via coaching and HR skills workshops.
- Completing administrative tasks e.g., drafting T&Cs changes, Variation Letters, and other general administration as required.
- Supporting the Site People Partner with Recruitment activity, including but not limited to: Management of external job boards, shortlisting of candidates, arranging interviews and the delivery of feedback to Candidates / Hiring Mangers.
- Supporting the Site People Partner on project related activities, including, but not limited to: TUPE consultations, Site Openings & Closures and Recruitment Open Days.
- Supporting the Site People Partner on Colleague engagement, values, and culture building activities.
- Work closely with other HR colleagues to ensure consistency and best practice across the Company.
Experience required:
- Proven work experience in a HR Advisor capacity
- Experience in end-to-end ER case management
- Ability to build strong and effective relationships
- Ability to work proactively and flexibly
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written
- Strong IT Skills and experience of using HRIS
- Knowledge of employment legislation and practical experience of HR procedures, processes, and practices.
Desirable:
- CIPD qualified or part qualified
- Experience working in Logistics with Operational Managers and Colleagues.
Working Pattern:
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday between core hours of 0800hrs - 1800hrs.
- Maximum of two days work from home per week.
