Human Resources Assistant
Are you a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking to join a leading automotive retailer in the south and south-west of England? We are currently seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join the HR Team based in Southampton.
As the HR Assistant, you will be an essential part of the HR team, providing vital transactional support to all employees. Reporting to the HR Office Manager, you will ensure that all information and processes are delivered accurately and efficiently. Your role will be integral to supporting colleagues across the organisation and contributing to the People Agenda.
The role:
- Promote and maintain positive employee relations across the organisation.
- Manage the HR Helpdesk to ensure timely, efficient, and accurate processing of requests, assigning tickets as necessary.
- Ensure documentation delivered to the business is accurate and consistent.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual people metrics through effective reporting using accurate data.
- Assist with annual driving licence audits for each location.
- Support the annual regulated person declaration audit in line with FCA guidelines.
- Ensure strict compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Stay updated on current employment legislation and HMRC requirements, making recommendations for necessary updates.
- Conduct quarterly data cleansing audits.
- Utilise the internal Payroll system to enhance team efficiencies.
- Provide support, advice, and assistance on matters of pay or employee benefits.
- Act as an ambassador for GDPR protocols.
- Ensure accurate information is recorded for Company Car users, capturing mileage and private fuel deductions.
- Support people managers with HR policies, practices, and their application.
- Make effective use of the new HR system.
About you:
- Level 3 CIPD qualification or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Excel, including creating and formatting spreadsheets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and share knowledge.
- Previous experience in a dynamic HR team.
- Experience working in a busy, pressurized environment with strict deadlines.
- Proficient in PC, Microsoft Office, and web applications.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.

24,000 - 25,000
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00 (with a 1-hour lunch break).
