This thriving co-educational independent school in West London is seeking an experienced HR professional with a flair for regulatory matters to join a busy office team. A standalone role, it is responsible for providing a comprehensive and effective HR and recruitment service, throughout the school, taking the lead on the administration of the school’s staff recruitment, management of existing staff records and regulatory compliance.
Duties include:
- Lead on all recruitment processes and Safeguarding checks
- Onboard new staff from issue of offer letters to induction training including child protection
- Ensure the appropriate Safer Recruitment procedures are followed for all activity and staff, parent helpers and visitors
- Maintain the Single Central Register Run payroll in the absence of the Finance Manager
- For compliance to monitor the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), the Independent Schools Council (ISC) and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) to ensure that the school is current on all regulatory requirements
- Ensure that current policies are available digitally to all staff, inspectors, governors and public Write and issue data sharing agreements and manage third party contracts/agreements
- Complete and submit Census returns
- First contact for staff regarding data protection issues
- Secretarial and administrative duties including filing, photocopying and dealing with external recruitment stakeholders
The successful candidate will be CIPD qualified or hold a similar HR qualification. Ideally you will have experience of working within a similar role in an education setting. Although there is no requirement for prior experience in compliance, this would be an advantage.
On a personal note, a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are essential for this role. You will bring excellent verbal and written communication skills to a wide variety of audiences. Your meticulous planning and organisation skills will ensure you are able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and whilst remaining calm under pressure. You will demonstrate professionalism at all times coupled with a positive and proactive approach.
