Position Purpose:
The People Operations Specialist plays an essential role in TAIT s People department as the liaison between the Centres of Excellence (COEs), ensuring the clear and structured circulation of information within the department. They minimise risk to the business by keeping track of compliance, conducting gap analyses in process and procedures, formulating policy recommendations, and researching best practices. The People Operations Specialist is responsible for fostering and cultivating a safe, equitable and agile environment for the department and for all TAIT employees.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
The People Operations Specialist assures the efficiency of the logistical aspects inherent to the People department and functions. They contribute to developing and delivering onboarding and training programs for employees and managers alike; ensure timely and accurate intake and follow-ups related to investigations in partnership with the Director, Workforce Relations; handle Workers Comp claims; research and draft policies based on industry and legal best practices, as well as existing internal practices; serve as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and issues. They anchor and distribute information between the Centres of Excellence while engaging with the functions to develop streamlined channels and tools for the department in their assigned region and partner closely with their counterparts in other regions.
- Function as a liaison between the People department and employees, addressing their questions and concerns while offering guidance and resolution that supports TAIT s purpose and beliefs.
- Lead the research, consultation, and development of People department policies and procedures, in line with legal best practices.
- Provide specialised support and delivery for human resources functions including employee relations, compensation and benefits, policies and procedures, training and development and any other function of the People team.
- Assist with conflict resolution and disciplinary actions in line with company policies.
- Provide support to the total rewards team by assisting employees with questions and issues.
- Oversee accurate and confidential HR records, ensuring data integrity in the HRIS for informed decision-making.
- Develop and implement employee training programs including but not limited to onboarding and training.
- Conduct new employee inductions and facilitate the onboarding process.
- Coordinate training sessions and maintain training records.
- Remain up to date about labour laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Assist with government reporting and audits as necessary.
- Promote employee engagement and morale through the co-development events and initiatives.
- Assist in developing and implementing surveys, feedback, and action planning.
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in an HR Coordinator, HR Generalist or other HR role partnering with all levels of an organisation, ideally in an organisation of 500+ employees.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK HR laws, regulations, and best practices
- CIPD certification a plus
- Experience working in a hybrid environment (physical and online)
