Job description

Scollard Doyle is a vibrant construction consultancy specialising in the cost & project management of construction projects. In 2021, Scollard Doyle merged with Cumming Group, an international cost and project management consultancy. Cumming Group has 50+ offices and 2,000+ employees worldwide.

To support growth in Scollard Doyle and the European business, we are seeking a full-time HR Executive to join the team. In this role you will be supporting the leadership team and reporting to the European Head of HR.

For the right candidate, this role offers ample opportunities for growth and development.

The ideal candidate will be degree qualified, have 4 years’ experience in an HR role with strong HR core / interpersonal skills, deal diplomatically with a wide range of issues and the ability to be a team player. A high degree of integrity is required.

Key Responsibilities:

To support the Directors and staff in an operational capacity by providing human resources advice and support.

- Provide guidance and support to the Directors and Management Team.

- Ensure legal compliance of HR systems and processes.

- Keep up to date on best practice and changes in HR.

- Adopt a pro-active approach to the continuous improvement of HR systems, processes and documentation.

- Handling disciplinary and grievance matters.

- To carry out all tasks in accordance with the wider company quality assurance procedures.

- Assist in managing and implementing changes to staff remuneration.

- Listening ear to staff when they need to work through problems or offload issues.

- Notify Directors on any concerns around staff welfare.

- Keep all HR files up to date.

- Monthly salary updates for payroll, including SMP, SPP, SSP, incremental pay awards and increases relating to qualifications and promotions.

- Produce ad hoc reports for the Directors and European Head of HR.

- Review, update and create (when required) policies and procedures – in line with ISO standards.

- Administer Pension, Life Assurance and Income Protection benefits.

- Onboard and offboard staff as required.

- Assist in the implementation of new work practices as required, i.e. Workday.

- Manage information inputs and outputs from Workday to ensure annual leave, sick days etc are recorded and approved correctly.

- Assist in performance reviews with line managers with a view to maximising potential and obtaining job satisfaction.

- Staff development – create the annual succession planning programme and support line managers in one-one reviews.

- Work with our training lead to finalise and communicate the annual training plan.

- Internal and external training, including commissioning of bespoke training.

- Provide internal training and coaching when required.

- Liaise with SCSI & RICS regarding corporate membership.

- Regularly update HR training records.

- Update job descriptions when necessary.

- Co-ordinate and review regularly work experience candidates.

- Update qualification tracker and review certificates.

- Staff recruitment – manage the recruitment process and assist in interviewing where necessary.

Skills Required:

- Ability to negotiate, influence and deliver results.

- Ability to deal diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders in a flexible environment, subject to change.

- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and organise workloads in conjunction with the appropriate Partner.

- Ability to carry out all tasks in accordance with the company quality assurance procedures.
