Demon Recruitment Group are working with a leading company who have a fantastic opportunity for a HR Generalist to join them, working alongside the very experienced and committed HR Manager.
For this role you will need to be CIPD qualified to ideally Level 5 and have experience in delivering Training to various areas - i.e Customer Service etc
Due to this role requiring Security Clearance, you will need to have been resident in the UK for the past 5 years and be happy to undergo a DBS.
Job Description & Role
Your job will consist of many aspects, all of which fall under the scope of a HR Generalist - Reporting directly to the HR Manager yyou will lead the company to another level through implementing change
Facilitating training and building good working relationships with your colleagues
Advising line managers on all things ER related
Evaluating policies and much more.
General tasks include: -
- Design and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, to enhance employee skills and knowledge in areas such as on boarding, employment legislation, customer service call recording, health and safety, manual handling, management training, operational efficiency.
- Review and develop existing training interventions with a continuous improvement mindset to make them effective and innovative
- Documenting changes in line with legislation.
- Attendance monitoring for compliance and supporting managers to successfully manage attendance management issues where necessary, taking the lead where necessary.
- Co-ordinate and carry out new starter inductions for new employees.
- Advise managers on recruitment and selection, preparing job descriptions and adverts, participating in interviews, and producing offers of employment.
- Prepare contractual documentation in relation to new appointments, terminations, and variations of employment and notifying payroll of employee updates.
- Support the HR Manager with projects including Engagement Action Planning, Culture Champions, OD, Process Improvements
- Maintain employee records whilst ensuring accuracy for GDPR compliance, both electronically and on file
- Regularly review existing training materials and recommend changes to support Continuous Improvement
- To support the HR admin with recruitment / selection interviews and processes
- Provide guidance, support and consistently sound advice to managers and staff on all Employee Relation matters.
- Probationary period monitoring at 3-month and 6-month points.
- Provide advice and guidance on first level grievance and disciplinary issues and act as HR Rep and note taker in investigation meetings and hearings.
- Completing any ER paperwork and admin where necessary
- Monitoring the HR inbox and escalating or managing issues with the support of the HR Manager
- Ensuring the employee headcount is accurate and up to date.
- Organise and conduct exit interviews.
- Covering the HR admin role as and when required
- Provide general support to the HR Manager
- Organise staff events in agreement with the HR Manager/SMT
- Assist the HR Manager in managing employee welfare and managing referrals.
- File departmental paperwork on a regular basis.
Experience required
- You will have a minimum of 2 years solid experience of designing and implementing a training programme and workshops in a people facing training role -
- CIPD qualified or have significant on-the-job experience as a HR Advisor -
- Up to date knowledge of employment legislation, it’s legal implications and best practise -
- Highly skilled and experienced in working with complex ER cases with up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law. -
- Advance skills in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word -

- Excellent and effective communication skills -
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines. -
- Ability to prioritise workload.
