About the role

The HR and Policy Consultant is a hybrid role supporting both HR Consultants and HR Policy Consultants. Support will be provided for applicants looking for a development opportunity within a fast-growing HR service and software consultancy.

As a HR & Policy Consultant you’ll provide consultancy services to Moorepay clients with a full range of HR advice, policy, training, and employee facing ER support. You’ll produce first class policy drafts, written reports, training materials, and marketing content as and when required. You’ll own and administer HR and HR policy content providing all services virtually and, at times, on-site.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking employee relations projects, including but not limited to, disciplinaries, grievances, capability processes, appeals, and consultations. This may include supporting or chairing meetings, drafting reports, agreeing strategies, and liaising with the HR Advice line, client and employee(s) accordingly.
  • Supporting the Policy team with client telephone and email enquiries, providing advice and/or revising policy drafts.
  • Owning HR and HR policy content, in conjunction with the wider team, ensuring accurate record keeping of client interactions in terms of storing policy drafts, reports and letters, as well as updating the CRM.
  • Producing, as required, written guidance for clients to be published on the HRHub or other online channels.
  • Delivering first class training to clients, as well as bespoke consultancy pieces.
  • Being aware of all Moorepay offerings in order to be able to provide a full service to clients.
  • Providing a flexible service for clients, including occasional travel to cover for colleagues.
  • Building relationships across HR Services and Sales, including taking legal advice where necessary and assisting in the building of the service.
  • Liaising with Account Managers and the HR Advice line to ensure the clients’ objectives are met.
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service before, during and after the client’s contractual relationship with HR consultancy at Moorepay.
  • Ensuring that the service provision promotes quality and value to customers.
  • Identifying additional opportunities for new business within the external market and existing customer base, and liaising with the appropriate department to ensure this new business is resourced effectively.
  • Maintaining professional personal development in accordance with the role requirements.

Skills & experience

Essential

  • Good working knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience of identifying HR issues and offering practical solutions.
  • Experience of working in a consultancy or multi-site HR role.
  • Team player with a positive approach to supporting colleagues and driving Moorepay success.
  • Ability to work independently, arranging own workloads.
  • Clean driving licence with ability to travel as required.

Desirable

  • MCIPD or equivalent HR/employment law qualification.
  • Working (end user) knowledge of one or more HR software solutions.
  • Experience of chairing employee relations meetings, such as grievance hearings, consultations, appeals etc.
  • Experience of delivering training.
