Based in Cambridge City
Hybrid working 4 or 5 days a week (2 days on site)

We are recruiting a HR Policy Specialist role on a fixed term contract for an established not for profit organisation based in Cambridge, employing over 10,000 people.
Our client is seeking an experienced HR professional who enjoys writing policies.
Excellent writing skills are required for this role with the ability to interpret employment law and turn it into user friendly HR policies.
The role is being offered on 4 or 5 days a week with a hybrid working model of 2 days a week on site at their office in Cambridge city.
Main responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and promote new HR policies and procedures and review existing policies to ensure compliance with employment legislation.
  • Assessments for new and revised HR policies.
  • Prepare committee papers, consultation documents, management information, business cases, reports and internal or external publications as required.
  • Assist with employment relations matters, including formal and informal meetings with the trade unions, supporting employment relations queries.
  • Lead and facilitate formal consultation processes with staff, with employees and trade unions on policy development.
  • Manage projects using clear, timely and succinct project plans ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed success criteria.
  • Manage risk effectively and develop approaches for monitoring risk as relevant to the policy area. 
Required Experience 
Experience of drafting a range of policies, knowledge of excel, powerpoint and other IT packages to manipulate and present data, writing/preparing reports and web material to a high standard and the ability to deal with sensitive and/or confidential matters. You will be able to ‘hit the ground’ running and be able to navigate a complex organisation and manage multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications 
Educated to degree level, or equivalent with a high level of experience in a policy writing and employment law.
CIPD or equivalent experience.
