DCS Recruitment are actively looking for a newly created HSE Advisor/officer to work on a permanent basis for our Logistics Client based in Wigan.
The HSE Advisor will be responsible for leading, reporting on and co-ordinating practices in all areas of Health, Safety and Environment for the Wigan site. They will provide guidance and advice to the business to enable them to minimise and manage risk.
The HSE Advisor will assist in driving a culture that never compromises on the health and safety of employees, contractors and partners by ensuring the workforce is fully engaged in understanding their responsibilities and empowered to take action when required.
Key Skills
- Previous experience working in a relevant HSE role, with background conducting risk assessments and awareness of statutory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with credibility & confidence to deal with contractors and shop floor staff.
- NEBOSH qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete risk assessments and create safe systems of work. Manage process and maintain. the risk assessment database ensuring it remains up to date.
- Management and hosting of contractors, maintaining relevant database and documentation.
- Complete statutory inspections to ensure checks are complete, including fire and first aid.
- Complete internal audits.
- Co-ordinate HSE team meetings, projects and actions.
- Support facilities and site management.
- Create QSHE report and relevant HSE KPI's.
- Ensure site has relevant and up to date PPE.
- Contribute to creating a culture of H&S across site, supporting site management.
