As an Environmental and Industrial Hygiene & Safety (IH&S) Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing robust health, safety, and environmental programs that align with our company's vision and objectives. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and drive continuous improvement in HSE practices across our organization.

The role carries an exciting set of responsibilities for our manufacturing site that is focused towards:

  • Fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes sustainability, safety, and employee well-being.
  • Conducting regular site assessments, including HSE, ergonomic assessments and noise assessments, to identify areas of improvement and develop action plans. This will include participating in regular internal and external audits to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive sustainable practices and initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation, and carbon footprint reduction.
  • Leading education and training employee programs to further our culture of sustainability awareness, and all health, safety, and ergonomic practices.
  • Being responsible for safety reporting and progress with identified areas for improvement, including hazardous chemical handling standards on site.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively recommend innovative solutions and technologies as well as potential partnerships and collaborations with external stakeholders.

Job Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Our ideal candidate will have previously worked in a manufacturing setting, demonstrating passion, and energy for sustainability, health, safety and ergonomics, by showing

  • Vocational certifications in sustainability (e.g., Nebosh, LEED, ISO 14001), health and safety (e.g., OSHA certifications), or ergonomics, or similar in-house training qualifications
  • Understanding of environmental regulations, industry standards, and best practices
  • Ability to build strong and collaborative working with cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders at all levels and successfully conveying concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Capability in data analysis, identification of and prioritisation of all challenges, and managing the same to agreed timescales
  • Protection of employee well-being and a commitment to making a positive impact on the workforce.
