HSQE Advisor Compliance and Assurance (12 months FTC)
Champion, facilitate and support the effective and proportionate management of health, safety, and environmental risk within the Yunex business.
Ensure the ongoing legal compliance of Yunex facilities and staff in accordance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and in accordance with Yunex’s own internal procedures. To undertake scheduled audits to ensure compliance to ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001.
To undertake audits on suppliers and contractors working alongside Yunex Traffic.
To develop and improve documents forming part of the integrated management system.
Act as an expert adviser and a critical friend to staff and management, collaborate with colleagues in the Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function to ensure legal compliance and to deliver continual improvement in pursuit of excellence.
What are my responsibilities?
- Support and facilitate effective and proportionate management of HSQE across the Yunex business.
- Develop subject matter expertise in identified areas and provide specialist advice and support on these matters as required.
- Plan, coordinate and undertake audits of Yunex facilities to ensure ongoing compliance and adherence with Yunex policies and procedures.
- Plan, coordinate and undertake audits of external suppliers and extended workforce organisations to ensure adherence with Yunex policies.
- Plan, coordinate and undertake audits of National Highways Sector Scheme members within the Yunex employee portfolio.
- Assist in the maintenance of ISO accreditations, including attendance of external audits with accreditation bodies.
- Assist in the development, improvement and ongoing reviews to existing Yunex policies and procedures, with particular focus on that documentation relating to Facilities Management (legionella, asbestos, statutory inspections, fire, first aid, fire management etc.).
- Assist in the planning, procurement, scheduling and coordination of statutory compliance and inspection and testing regimes across the business. Assist in the monitoring, management and close out of corrective actions.
- Assist and offer HSQE support in the search for new Yunex facilities.
- Champion, advise and support HSQE risk management including the development of risk assessments and work instructions, monitor implementation, identify areas for improvement, and support activity to promote consistency of approach and shared learning across the site.
- Monitor implementation of risk control measures, provide coaching, support best practice, and facilitate continual improvement.
- Undertake and support accident, incident and near miss investigation, including root cause analysis and production and monitoring of corrective actions. Where necessary liaise with regulatory bodies.
- Collate data, develop, and deliver reports to the management team and staff regarding HQSE performance.
- Coordinate effective proactive and reactive HSQE communication in the business units. Advise and support management, provide and deliver briefing material as required, monitor delivery and report against agreed KPIs as required.
- Facilitate promotion of a positive culture in the business.
- Support development of technical HSQE material for inclusion in bids and tenders.
- Engage in, and record, structured activity to promote continuing professional development.
What do I need to qualify for the role?
Essential
- Level 3 qualification in health and safety
- Qualification in second discipline (environment, quality)
- Lead auditor qualification in ISO 45001, 14001 and 9001.
- Relevant experience including working in a compliance role with an emphasis in facilities compliance
- Membership of an appropriate professional body
- Experience developing procures in accordance with ISO 45001, 9001 and 14001.
Desirable
- Level 5 or 6 qualification in health and safety, environment, sustainability or quality management
- Level 3 or above qualification in second discipline
- Substantial relevant experience
- Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body
