As exclusive partner to Holtec Britain, we're seeking multiple Human Factors engineers (across various seniority levels) to author Human Factors assessments of the SMR design and help developing the Human Factors chapter in the Safety Case for submission to the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) for use in the Generic Design Assessment (GDA).

Overview of the Role
You will build strong a relationship with the US SMR Operations & Safety Lead. The UK GDA is a critical element for commercial deployment of SMR-160s word-wide, and this role provides a unique opportunity in an exciting emerging technology and energy marketplace.
Main Responsibilities
- Delivery of Human Factors assessments, documents, and plans.
- Help develop the HF chapter of the safety case for the SMR-160+ GDA.
- Coaching and mentoring to develop the team in technical and personal skills enabling them to deliver.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to internal and external organizations including the nuclear regulators.
- Applicants should be prepared to play an active role in a project-driven and highly integrated engineering team.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in an engineering or science related discipline.
- Experience in Human Factors Task and Error analysis
- HRA and Human Based Safety Claims
- Strong presentation and communication skills - able to present at multiple organisational levels and to external regulatory stakeholders.
- Eligible to work under 10 CFR Part 810.
