Position Title: HR Intern
Job Description:
Objective: The HR Intern will assist the HR department in various tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and general administrative support. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Human Resources within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment Support:
- Screen resumes and conduct initial phone screenings.
- Schedule interviews and communicate with candidates.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to ensure a smooth recruitment process.
- Maintain applicant tracking system and update candidate records.
- Employee Relations:
- Assist in maintaining employee records and databases.
- Support HR in employee engagement initiatives and activities.
- Respond to basic employee inquiries and escalate as necessary.
- Workers’ Compensation & Leaves of Absence
- Assist HR Managers and Generalists in handling workers’ compensation matters
- Support leaves of absence processing and tracking
- Respond to basic employee questions on workers’ compensation & leaves of absence
- Project Support
- Participate in various HR projects, for example (not an all inclusive list):
- HR process improvement and automation
- Employee record retention – system change and consolidation
- Participate in various HR projects, for example (not an all inclusive list):
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain and update HR documents, policies, and procedures.
- Handle confidential information with utmost discretion.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Prior internship or relevant work experience is a plus.
Duration: This is a full-time internship position lasting approximately three months, June – August (exact timing is flexible).
