Job description
To contribute to the Christian ministry and mission of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland through the delivery of the duties outlined.To be an active member of the General Assembly’s staff team, contributing to the effective administration of its functions and assisting in the development of strategies and plans for the delivery of its agreed objectives in a manner in keeping with the Christian ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.Under the Leadership of the Secretaries of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to assist with the implementation of decisions of the General Assembly relevant to the Councils and to carry forward their delegated responsibilities.Under the Leadership of the Council for Mission in Ireland and the Council for Global Mission, to forge and develop missional partnerships, to take responsibility for the grant making function of the two Councils and to contribute to the general support of the Councils as required..

A third level qualification i.e. a university degree or equivalent qualificationMust evidence personal Christian faith in practice and expression, normally demonstrated by active membership of a Christian congregation. A working knowledge of current thinking and practice in Christian mission in Ireland, North and South, and globally, including the work of denominations and para-church agencies which currently do or potentially may collaborate with PCICompetency in the use of Microsoft Office applicationsCompetent numeracy skills including familiarity with spreadsheets, budgeting processes and the drafting and presentation of basic financial reports Leadership experience within the life of a Christian congregation or organisation Experience of working as part of an effective team in either an employed or voluntary capacity in Ireland or overseasExperience of participation in and development of networks of practitioners working in similar or related fields.Experience of managing administrative and decision-making processes, including oversight of correspondence, reporting, briefing and evaluation as appropriate to the tasks.Willingness to work within the ethos of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland The ability to work flexible and unsociable hours as necessary and to travel throughout Ireland and overseasAccess to a car for work purposesEvidence of deep personal faith in Christ, normally demonstrated by active membership of a Christian congregation.
