JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Housing Support Worker
Project and Location: Housing Support for Older People
Reports to: Project Manager
Main Purpose of Job: To provide support to older people over 55 to remain living safely at home for as long as they wish.
Main Job Tasks:
- Visiting older people in their homes
- Provide support with older people’s issues.
- Supporting to find alternative accommodation for those who need it when required.
- Helping to set up new homes or ensure current home is fit for purpose and provide hands on practical support.
- Liaising with other agencies.
- Encourage and support service users to engage in their local community.

Duration: Permanent or Fixed Contract available
Hours: Part Time, 17.5 hours per week, Flexible working
Flexible working: This is arranged with your manager and is around the requirements of the project.
Salary £20,151.95 – 21,507.29 pro-rata (BCM points 19-21, starting at point 19)
Holidays: 21 days annual leave per annum, plus 12 Public Holidays.
Probation Period: 6 months
Pension: Entitled to join after three months service. Staff are required to make a minimum contribution of four percent of their basic salary to their personal pension within the Group Scheme.

Period of Notice: Less than six months service = 1 week.
Six months' service or more = 1 month.
Sick Scheme: BCM Sick Scheme 2

No sick pay will be paid in respect of the first 3 days of any period of sickness absence.
Access NI: This post requires that a check must be carried out under the requirements of Access NI Enhanced Disclosure. This will involve full criminal records checks which will show spent and unspent convictions, cautions, cases pending and any other relevant information.
QCF Level 2: Should funding become available you may have the opportunity to undertake QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care.
NISCC: You will be required to attain registration with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council.
