Job Brief:

The purpose of the role is to support the HR department and be the first point of contact for employees. The role will involve the coordination of day-to-day HR activities, recruitment, and training along with involvement in HR projects as part of the new People strategy.

The HR Coordinator will be involved in the full employee life cycle.

Naturally you will have superb administration skills, in particular Excel and Outlook emails and a proactive nature, not afraid to problem solve, take the initiative, and ask questions if unsure. You'll plan effectively in advance, without being fazed if tomorrow doesn't look like today.

You'll spot opportunities to improve process and approach, and make it happen.

The HR Co-Ordinator will be joining a small friendly team and joining at an exciting time of growth with a range of HR projects on the horizon. Ultimately, you should be able to act as a Co-ordinator on Human Resources management and organisational changes.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for employees, coordinating the full employee lifecycle as required
  • Coordinate the recruitment process by contacting candidates, assisting in shortlisting, issuing offers of employment and making first day arrangements
  • Continually monitor employment terms to ensure managers and staff are informed of all other agreed contractual changes
  • Track probation review and annual performance appraisal deadlines and liaise with managers to ensure timely completion of documentation
  • Provide administration support with employee relation meetings, this will include absence management, performance management, investigations, disciplinary and grievances
  • Assist to administer and monitor employee training records, ensuring they remain up to date in accordance with role requirements
  • Support organisational change where required
  • Assist to report on HR metrics on a monthly and annual basis
  • Provide support to the HR Business Partner as required to ensure the smooth running of HR projects
  • Ensuring that all HR documentation is organised and up to date, this includes personnel records on our internal HR System
  • Be the first point of contact for all line managers on all employee issues and employment law queries
  • Support new starter induction processes including chase and completing references and all vetting checks in line with BS7868
  • Ensure all aspects of HR Admin, including HR letters and recording annual leave are being managed real time
  • Assist with the build out of the Human Resource Management System
  • Ensure personnel records are kept up to date and in line with legislation and GDPR requirement
  • The successful candidate will also be required to undertake other ad-hoc duties as required

Experience / Qualities:

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Great attention to detail with analytical skills
  • A good understanding of employee law
  • Experience of supporting with ER case work
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise and meet set deadlines
  • Good IT skills: Word, Excel and HR Systems (HRIS), knowledge of People HR would be a distinct advantage
  • You are confident to express your opinions and thoughts whilst remaining respectful of others
  • You have excellent people skills, and have a history of building strong relations with colleagues at all levels
  • You are enthusiastic about the organisation and happy to go the extra mile for your colleagues
  • Professional and discreet with trusted and sensitive information

Qualifications:

  • CIPD Level 3 qualified or currently working towards becoming qualified is beneficial but relevant experience will also be considered

Further Information:

  • This is a full-time permanent role in the Nottingham office
  • £30,000
  • 20 days holidays plus Bank Holidays, pension, and free parking
  • Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm (1 hour lunch break)
  • Opportunities to grow and progress, development will be supported and great exposure to generalist HR environment however, a specialist interest in Employee Relations / advisory would be natural progression
  • Immediate interviews, ideally looking to start ASAP
  • Reporting to HR Business Partner
  • All successful candidates will be subject to vetting and security clearances

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00 per year
