Position: Humanities Teacher (SEND)

We are working with an 'Outstanding' SEN school in Southampton who aree currently recruiting for a Humanities Teacher to start with them on a long-term basis as soon as possible. The school support young people aged 7-16 years with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, with particular focus on their social, emotional, mental health and sensory needs.
Responsibilities: As a Humanities Teacher, you will play a crucial role in the development and well-being of students. Key responsibilities include:
Designing and implementing engaging and adapted Humanities curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of students with Austism Spectrum Conditions.
Developing and delivering lessons that accommodate individualized education plans to support students' academic and personal growth.
Creating a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, respects sensory needs, and fosters social and emotional development.
Collaborating with other teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a holistic approach to each student's education and well-being.
Keeping abreast of the latest teaching methodologies and best practices in SEN education, actively participating in training sessions, and contributing to the ongoing improvement of our educational programs.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialised training or experience in teaching Humanities to students with SEN.
- Understanding of the social, emotional, mental health, and sensory needs.
