Salary Range – £34,500 - £40,950 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
Position: Full Time, Permanent Contract.
You will be contracted to work 38 weeks term time and a further 1 week, which will be directed time before the start of the year for you to complete other activities such as course writing and lesson preparation for the academic year ahead. It is expected that staff will work the necessary hours to fulfil their duties and responsibilities.
The successful candidate will join a talented team of humanities specialists, providing excellent online experiences for KS4 students. The humanities courses studied at KS4 currently include GCSE History and GCSE Citizenship Studies, but other courses (such as geography/religious studies/business studies) may be brought in at a future date.
- Inspire, motivate and provide purposeful subject knowledge for students within the school
- Contribute to the development of your subject specialism and, where appropriate, the integration of your subject learning across the curriculum
- Support the self-evaluation of the school’s effectiveness and the development of priorities for improvement
- Assist in maintaining and developing a high-quality school environment and profile and act as a role model by your professional conduct and disposition
- Promote the general progress and well-being of individual students and any class or group of students
- Provide guidance and advice to students on educational matters in lessons and tutorials
- Provide or contribute to assessments and reports relating to students in a timely manner
- Participate in meetings and staff CPD opportunities
- Undertake any other work as specified by their line manager
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
The Ideal Candidate will be qualified up to degree level in the related subject area and have a recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status. In addition, they will have:
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Knowledge of the correct safeguarding procedures
- Knowledge of the education sector in a teaching profession or above
- The ability to work well in teams
- The ability to work effectively in dynamic and changing environments
- Experience of working in the primary, secondary or college sector
- Experience of working in state or independent school sector
- Experience with creating resources and the ability to review and enhance our current course delivery
- Good ICT skills with the ability to teach online using technology applications
