Job Title: Humanities Teacher
Job Description:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Humanities Teacher to join our team at a reputable educational institution in South West England, specifically in Dorset, Bournemouth. This is a temporary position, with the expectation of working part-time hours.
Job Duties:
Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in humanities subjects, including history, geography, and social sciences.
Develop and implement appropriate lesson plans and instructional materials that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
Utilise various teaching methods and strategies to foster critical thinking, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of the subject matter.
Assess and evaluate students' progress through assignments, tests, and examinations, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and ensure the seamless integration of humanities subjects.
Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities to stay updated with the latest educational practises and pedagogies.
Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, grades, and performance, and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's academic progress.
Provide guidance and support to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Required Qualifications:
Hold a PGCE Secondary qualification.
Demonstrate a strong passion for teaching humanities subjects.
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Show proficiency in planning and delivering effective lessons.
Display the ability to effectively manage a diverse classroom environment.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as History, Geography, or Social Sciences.
Proven experience teaching humanities subjects at the secondary level.
In-depth knowledge of the national curriculum and examination requirements.
Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional certifications or qualifications related to teaching or specific humanities subjects.
Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
Participation in relevant professional development programmes or courses.
Working Conditions:
The Humanities Teacher will work in a school environment, primarily within classrooms and potentially other educational spaces. The role involves regular interaction with students, colleagues, and parents or guardians. The position is temporary and will require working part-time hours.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
