About the Role

Base Location: Tummel Bridge Workshop

Salary: SS06 £39,415 - £45,136 depending on skills and experience + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSE Renewables operate the largest fleet of Hydro-electric power assets across 8 Hydro schemes in Scotland, with our Hydro Operations and Maintenance Teams looking after over 1400MW of associated infrastructure - https://www.sserenewables.com/hydro/

As Team Leader for the multi-disciplined team in the Tummel & Breadalbane Group, youll ensure the affective and efficient day-to-day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state.

Some of your other main accountabilities will include;

- The day-to-day management, supervision and support of your team, including carrying out performance management.

- Looking after the safety of the public, environment, staff, and contractors within the area.

- Co-ordinating and planning the teams workload, utilising a computer-based maintenance system, to deliver the expected high standards of plant performance, availability, and reliability.

- Ensuring technical, legislative; environment and safety standards are met.

- Managing packages of work and working closely to support the power station Team Leaders with resource.

Youll also undertake authorisation training to perform HV switching, plant operations and isolations plus authorised person duties up to Auxiliary Plant Authorisation under the Hydro System Safety Rules.

Progression is possible by completing the necessary training and assessment process, followed by carrying out the duties and responsibilities of Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under the Hydro System Safety Rules.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Several years experience working in Hydro Generation, or similar heavy rotating plant or civil construction environment.

- A civil, electrical or mechanical background in conjunction with a recognised apprenticeship or similar qualification. You should either hold, or be willing to study towards, an engineering based HNC or equivalent.

- Proven ability in successfully leading and motivating a multi-disciplined engineering team to meet company deliverables and manage emergent work in a safe and efficient manner.

- Experience liaising directly with a multitude of internal and external stakeholders, such as clients, management, contractors, and other staff on a daily basis, to ensure that all work is undertaken to company requirements and safety standards.

- You will be a highly motivated, flexible, safety conscious person who has the ability to service the needs of the company, manage emergent work and lead the team safely and efficiently.

A full and current UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Applicants should ideally reside or be prepared to relocate to within 30 miles of Tummel Bridge.
