An exciting opportunity has arisen for a newly created role within our Hygien team at Cranswick Gourmet Bacon. Through a culture of continuous improvement the successful candidate will lead a motivated hygiene team to maintain the site in a hygienic condition throughout the shift. Overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the days hygiene shift, managing the Nights Hygiene Team Leaders and the key point of contact for all night hygiene related tasks, issues and opportunities.
Working in a safe and time effective manner in accordance with health and safety standards and ensuring food safety, hygiene and quality standards are achieved at all times, is paramount.
Main duties include:
- To lead the hygiene team and ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed as required and that appropriate records are kept to show due diligence.
- To liaise with production team leaders / managers ensuring that all areas are maintained to the best standard.
- To ensure that all areas / equipment are cleaned to a high standard before being released back to production. Challenge the Hygiene Team Leaders if not to correct standard.
- To check the concentration of the cleaning chemicals are at the required strength and take corrective action if they become out of specification.
- To complete Hygiene Team Leader appraisals and 1-2-1’s.
- To audit the cleaning of the days hygiene team alongside the Hygiene Team Leader to ensure that it meets the required standards. Holding the Team Leader to account for the cleanliness of their operatives and providing upskilling on expectations.
- Complete comprehensive training and maintain records for the hygiene team.
- To assist the Nights Hygiene Manager in the control of the energy, water, chemical and cleaning consumables stock levels.
- To assist the Nights Hygiene Manager in ensuring that all appropriate customer and legal standards are met throughout the factory (BRC, BMPA, PIU, M&S etc).
- To be the primary point of contact for all operational and engineering colleagues during hours on site to support with any requests.

Hours of work
Shift Pattern Nights only: 3on-1off,3on-7off
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £18.52 per hour
Expected hours: 35.25 per week
