The role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organised and motivated ICT Business Services Assistant.
As an ICT Business Services Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our organisations ICT procurement, finance and asset management activities. You will assist in the procurement process of ICT equipment and services, including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, evaluating bids and negotiating contracts.
You will work with internal stakeholders to understand their ICT procurement needs and provide recommendations on suitable products and services. You will assist in the Stores service for ICT, including stock management and distribution and assist line managers with on-going issues such as Budgets, Invoicing, Asset Management, Projects and ICT connected support issues.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, invoices and good received and undertake asset reconciliation
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers, agencies, and manufacturers
- Ensure that orders received are accurate and fit for purpose
- Handle and distribute goods throughout the purchasing process
- Research and stay updated on the latest technology trends and advancements to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment delivery, installation, and warranty support
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements pertaining to procurement and business support activities
- Assist in tracking ICT inventory and manage stock levels to ensure availability for end users
- Assist in budget planning and forecasting for ICT procurement
Requirements:
- Must have a good standard of education to at least GCSE A-C Level, including Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities
- Experience working as a purchasing assistant in the IT industry is preferred
- Good understanding of popular products in the IT industry
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and documentation
- Strong knowledge of industry market trends and conditions
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and social skills
- Positive and professional demeanour
- Flexible to travel to meet with suppliers, Customers and manufacturers as required
