We have a fantastic opportunity to join the 8-strong Legal team at Greggs as an In house commercial lawyer responsible for providing support to our operational and central teams on a variety of legal matters.

About the role

• This is a full-time role, however flexibility in this will be considered
• We know that having a work-life balance is important, so we offer our colleagues as much flexibility as possible in line with the needs of their role
• The base location for this role isGreggs House, Newcastle upon Tyne.

What you’ll do

• All aspects of supplier contracts , including third party manufacturing and warehousing and distribution agreements, franchise agreements and general terms and conditions
• Providing support to marketing on advertising, IP, sponsorship arrangements and celebrity endorsements
• Advising and supporting with IT hardware and software agreements, including SaaS arrangements, GDPR requirements including data sharing and gathering and drafting of Privacy Policies
• Engagement letters for professional services, consulting arrangements, NDAs
• Ad-hoc legal and general business support as required which will include company secretarial, regulatory, and some commercial property support for the shop estate
• Instructing and managing external counsel and IP advisors, particularly on contentious matters

About you

You will fit right into this role if you:

• Are a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with around 2 years’ PQE either In house or private practice specialising in commercial law with a willingness to develop experience in other areas of law
• Have a strong technical ability
• Are confident and commercially minded
• Are customer focused
• Have good interpersonal skills with an ability to develop strong internal and external relationships
• Have great communication skills
• Have retail experience (an advantage but not essential)
