Duties/Responsibilities
We are currently recruiting for an In-House Paralegal to join our team working Monday - Friday 35 hours per week 09:00am - 17:00pm.
- Commercial Agreements:
- Reviewing a range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, IT and supplier contracts
- Manage the review and upkeep of EMCOR UK standard terms and conditions, including customer terms, supplier terms, NDAs and other supporting documents, such as checklists and related departmental policies and procedures
- Supporting functional stakeholders with reviewing and negotiating T&Cs, both EMCOR UK standard T&Cs and supplier T&Cs
- Compliance:
- Support the Head of Legal and other functional stakeholders with implementation and monitoring of legal and ethical compliance procedures
- Support training sessions for stakeholders, including producing training materials
- Management of the data privacy inbox and collaborating with the wider Data Privacy Team (consisting of Legal, Information Security and HR)
- Maintain the corporate Subject Access Request (SAR) register and advise on individual rights, supporting with delivery of SARs
- Support the Data Privacy Team with the review and upkeep of data privacy policies, procedures and notices
- General legal department administration and support:
- Initial triage of legal queries and dealing with adhoc queries
- Liaising with external solicitors and insurers in relation to insurance claims
- Assisting the Head of Legal with the monitoring of legal claims
- Providing company secretarial support to ensure efficient and proper storing of minutes and updating of company records
- Legal research, where required
Person Specification
Essential:
- Solid academics; legal qualification desirable
- Legal support experience in an in-house legal environment, including some experience of contract negotiation and application of data protection laws applicable in the UK
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, methodical in approach with great attention to detail
- Ability to liaise effectively with colleagues including senior stakeholders, with strong relationship and team building skills – able to foster a culture of collaboration
- Strong people management skills and communication skills
- Positive attitude and highly motivated self-starter
- Office based in Eastleigh
