About this role: Equality, Diversity and Inclusivity (EDI) underpin the core values of the university. It is a fast-paced and dynamic area of work.

The EDI team manages both the EDI and Health and Wellbeing strategies, working across the whole university to identify priorities and embed best practice.

Inclusive Practice Officers work on a range of culture change activities which support our Transforming Futures EDI Strategy 2030. Current projects for our team include ground up EDI and health and wellbeing initiatives: supporting creation of our anti-racist approach, University mental health, and policy and equality analysis development work to create an inclusive university through our broader practice and decision making.

The EDI team is part of the Inclusivity & Engagement Team at UWE Bristol. Our aim is to deliver outstanding outcomes for all of our students in partnership with Faculties and other Services. Our work inputs into student recruitment and retention; academic success; student satisfaction and graduate destination outcomes.

About you: You will have a good understanding of EDI issues for staff and students at universities. Working with a wide range of colleagues, you will have the scope to test out new approaches, as well as to evaluate and measure impact of these approaches.

You will have experience of developing and delivering inspiring training and activities that engage staff and students. You will work collaboratively across the university to develop and strengthen cross-cultural relationships, and develop, lead and coordinate delivery of activities over the academic year. This could include running a stall at an event, delivering briefings or training, organising and leading planning meetings, and meeting with students and staff to conduct focus groups.

You will bring your organisational and administrative skills and creativity to a role that will be varied, often self-directed, and make a real difference to the lived experience of an inclusive culture at UWE.

Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
