We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our rapidly growing organisation providing information, training and peer support to parents and families of children and young people with special educaitonal needs and disabilities in West Sussex.
We are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated advisor to manage our Benefits Advice Service.
As well as overall project management of the service including line management of a Benefits Support Worker and Administrator, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of advice and guidance on Carers Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Personal Independence Payment to parent-carers of children and young people with SEND in West Sussex.
Person Specification (essential):
• Proven experience of providing welfare and benefits advice preferably gained with either children or adults with disabilities
• Experience of using CRM databases
• Understanding of challenges facing parents and carers of children with SEND
• In-depth knowledge of Carers Allowance, Disability Living Allowance (DLA) and Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
• Passionate about improving the life chances of children with SEND and their parents/carers, and families

Benefits Advisor (Project Manager)
Salary £28,000 FTE (actual gross monthly salary £1866)
28 hours per week
6.6 weeks holiday
Home based (with occasional travel for meetings in West Sussex)
