Income Recovery Officer

£32,608.00 + £1,657 ECP

Remote working - visits are mainly based in Wellingborough and surrounding villages, as and when required

Permanent, Full Time

We are recruiting for an Income Recovery professional to join our team. The Income Recovery Officer will deliver a high performing, customer focused income management service within a defined patch. You will provide a proactive service to include rent and service charges, leasehold charges, support charges, preventing former tenant arrears and maximising income.

Our Income Recovery Officers are patch based and will be required to complete home visits and attend court in Northamptonshire.

About the role:

  • Ensure that the organisation maximises its income through the effective management of income collection and debt management services, adopting a proactive and preventative approach that creates a culture of payment amongst our customers, whilst assisting the development and delivery of new digital and financial inclusion initiatives that aim to prevent household debt.

  • Delivery of high quality income management services within a defined area, acting as the primary officer for every tenant on the patch, ensuring the provision of a high performing customer orientated service, ensuring the service meets the needs of, and is accessible to all customers, maximising personal contact via home visits.

  • Lead on the provision of effective delivery of debt and complex benefit advice to maximise customers income and tenancy sustainment; leading on creating a culture of payment to maximise income and minimise debt.

Who we are looking for:

Our successful candidate will have the following skills and experience;

  • Experience of delivering housing management and support services to the elderly and vulnerable adults within the community.

  • Good working knowledge of welfare reform and the benefits system.

  • Someone who enjoys the challenge of a fast paced working environment and the complexities of working with households in financial difficulty. You will be a team player with the ability to work on your own where no single day is the same.

  • Experience of attending court.

  • Good literacy, numerical and analytical skills and an ability to understand and interpret financial information.

  • Experience of lone working, a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
