Independent Advocate

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Independent Advocate to join our vibrant team in Liverpool delivering the Advocacy service within Secure Services across Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. This role will also cover the advocacy services within two local prisons.

As an Independent Advocate, you will provide crucial support to vulnerable adults facing significant health and social care challenges. You will need to be visible on-site at secure mental health hospitals and prisons. You will be supporting a wide range of vulnerable adults often with profound and multiple needs, so you will have experience of this type of work. You'll deliver persuasive verbal and written representations on their behalf, collaborate with public and voluntary organisations, and take directed actions to address clients' issues. This role demands a flexible attitude, excellent communication, and the ability to handle sensitive information confidently. Additionally, we provide a full induction and training schedule along providing you with a IAP (Independent Advocacy Qualification) .

Hours of Work: Part-time: 11.10 hours over 2 or 3 days per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5 pm

Location: Office based with travel across Liverpool and the surrounding area. (Applicants must live within the area; have a full driver's licence and access to their own transport )

Independent Advocate Requirements:

* Previous experience in advocacy, information and advice, or a similar role, ideally within health, social care, or the voluntary sector is desirable.
* Demonstrable experience working with vulnerable adults.
* Working knowledge of public and voluntary organisations
* Strong communication and time management skills.
* Proficiency in computer literacy.
* A full driver's licence and access to your own transport.

* Competitive salary of �6926.40 - �7178.70 (FTE Equivalent �23,088.00 - �23,292.00 per annum dependent on experience).
