We have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Manager to join us and work with our Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement (MFE) team. 
About the role
As our Volunteer Manager, you'll develop volunteering across the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Marketing, Fundraising and Engagement directorate, to deliver a consistent and cohesive experience. A varied role, you’ll be working collaboratively with stakeholders to develop our BHF volunteering proposition and support the delivery of our strategy to increase reach, income and organisational capacity.
Responsible for a sector leading volunteer programme, you'll support the research and development of new opportunities and ideas to help motivate and engage new and existing volunteers in the BHF. By providing expertise and delivering volunteering guidance, you’ll support fundraising volunteer onboarding and training.
Volunteers are the life blood of British Heart Foundation and you’ll ensure volunteers know how much they are valued.

 

Working arrangements
This is a home-based contract, there will be some requirement to travel to BHF offices where necessary for team events and meetings.

About you
With expert knowledge of sector best practice, innovation, governance and compliance in volunteering & fundraising you’ll have a strong understanding of fundraising and supporter motivations.

 

You’ll have experience of managing complex projects to enable strategy delivery and evaluation, as well as experience of developing engaging volunteering propositions including acquisition.

 

To be successful in this role you'll have the following skills and experience:

  • Able to contribute to the translation of our fundraising volunteering strategy into operational plans. 
  • Able to support the development of sector leading fundraising volunteering programmes & group development.
  • Experience of developing and managing acquisition campaigns and on-going engagement.
  • Experience of supporting the research and development of opportunities and new ideas to motivate and engage new and existing volunteers to support in the BHF.
  • Able to manage fundraising volunteer on-boarding and training.
  • Able to lead on, provide expertise, and roll out of fundraising volunteering guidance.

With excellent communication skills, you’ll have previous experience of volunteer campaign management, engagement and delivery and will be able to communicate clearly with volunteers, providing world class stewardship and engagement through a variety of on and off-line channels.

 

You’ll have good attention to detail and strong organisational skills, able to manage a changing workload and tight deadlines. Able to make informed decisions and make suggestions for progress, you’ll be enthusiastic and personable able to engage others when talking about a volunteering – both to other members of staff and the general public.

Interview process

 

The interviews will be held via MS Teams, with the first round scheduled for 3nd and 4rd April, and second round interviews being held on 8th and 9th April.
