As our first-ever Individual Giving Manager, you will lead on the development and implementation of a brand-new multi-channel Individual Giving programme, comprising of direct marketing campaigns, product development and stewardship communications.
As a new role and team, you will support and lead an Individual Giving Officer and Legacy & In-Memory Officer, to meet and, where possible, exceed net income targets. You will develop annual budgets and operational plans and work with the wider fundraising team to analyse and segment our supporter base, developing appropriate supporter journeys and propositions that elicit increased giving and engagement. Your priorities will be to substantially grow our supporter base, focusing on regular giving and pipeline support to, and including, legacy giving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage the Individual Giving annual income and expenditure budget and plans.
- Prepare quarterly forecasts and report monthly on performance against targets and KPIs to the Director of Income Generation & Communications.
- Oversee the management of appeals, from creative brief, copywriting, print & fulfilment management through to digital promotional and thanking.
- Lead a rigorous test-to-learn methodology, regularly monitoring, evaluating, and analysing campaigns, creatives, and propositions, providing regular results and implementing changes based on data-driven insight.
- Prepare, test, and deliver supporter journeys for new and existing supporters that promote retention and increase value.
- Develop a mid & high-value donor stewardship programme resulting in tailored propositions to drive long term engagement and maximised income.
- Develop a pipeline of Legacy giving, introducing Legacy-specific materials, campaigns, and messaging.
- To sensitively manage relationships with supporters who choose to donate money in memory of a loved one as well as funeral directors who may manage the donation on behalf of the family.
- Manage digital birthday fundraising – developing an onward supporter journey to encourage repeat giving.
- Oversee external partner / supplier relationships to maximise value for Rotherham Hospice and where appropriate lead on the selection of agencies / suppliers.
- Ensure accurate and timely data recording, storage, and management.
- Deliver Gift Aid-specific campaigns and provide expertise and guidance on all matters relating to Gift Aid internally, ensuring gift aid declarations are accurately made and stored.
- Work sensitively and empathetically with patients and their families to support fundraising and storytelling in campaigns and appeals, engendering long-term support and advocacy of Rotherham Hospice’s work.
- Ensure prompt and accurate thanking and banking of all donations received.
- Keep abreast of the fundraising market, trends and best practises – testing new approaches to generate income for Rotherham Hospice.
