Overview: We are seeking a skilled Industrial Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and optimizing the transition of equipment to a new facility, ensuring efficient process flows and waste elimination. The role involves a strong emphasis on data analysis, process improvement, and effective communication.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Implement and optimize new facility processes to improve cycle times.
- Support increased production volume demands, focusing on cost, quality, and time.
- Integrate new technologies to enhance sustainability.
- Contribute to the overall future manufacturing strategy.
- Facilitate digitalization through facility data processing.
- Ensure facility design and implementation comply with UK legislation and support internal and external audits.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Assess the feasibility of new processes and manage projects for cost, quality, and timing.
- Provide required capability and capacity at the manufacturing facilities to meet program milestones, launch plans, and production requirements.
- Conduct feasibility and cost evaluations for new or modified processes to develop robust delivery plans with minimal operational disruption.
- Develop engineering solutions suited to the facility’s capabilities and process characteristics.
- Create robust and lean layout solutions to support project delivery and operational efficiency improvements.
- Maintain and develop Health, Safety, and Operational Risk Management processes and site-specific systems.
- Contribute to ongoing Environmental Innovation and Reporting (Energy, Water, Waste) compliance.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience with value stream mapping and waste elimination.
- Understanding of process flows and principles of optimization.
- Proven problem-solving experience.
- Strong data analytical skills.
- Experience in process improvement.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting ideas clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to challenge existing thinking positively while building trust and credibility.
- Qualified in time study techniques, including MOST and Pace rating.
Desirable:
- IMS or equivalent accreditation.
- Experience in automotive Industrial Engineering.
- Familiarity with paint technologies and paint shop operational systems.
- Experience in contract and performance management.
