LJF Powder Coating Ltd provides a comprehensive selection of custom coatings for all sectors of industry. Located in Aberdeen our large workshops have two blasting bays, four temperature-controlled spray booths using electrostatic spray technology and four bake ovens.

Industrial Painter - The Role:

The Industrial Painter is responsible for applying coatings to industrial surfaces in accordance with NORSOK M501 and client coating specifications.

Opportunity:

• Apply coatings to industrial surfaces following NORSOK M501 and client coating specifications.
• Prepare surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, and masking as necessary.
• Operate and maintain Graco King 60/1 pumps effectively to ensure consistent and high-quality spraying.
• Monitor and maintain proper coating thickness and quality standards throughout the application process.
• Achieve a car-like finish using industrial paints, ensuring a high-gloss, professional appearance that meets client expectations.
• Proficiently read masking drawings and coating details to ensure precise application of coatings.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines and requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used, work performed, and any deviations from specifications.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and project managers regarding progress, challenges, and requirements.

Industrial Painter - Candidate specification:

The Industrial Painter plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity and durability of industrial surfaces through meticulous coating application. This position demands a combination of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to meeting project deadlines and quality standards.

The role requires a meticulous attention to detail, adherence to tight deadlines, and a minimum of 3 years of experience using Graco King 60/1 pumps for spraying applications.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial painting, with a focus on spraying applications.
• Proficiency in applying coatings according to NORSOK M501 and client specifications.
• Experience using Graco King 60/1 pumps for industrial spraying applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards under tight deadlines.
• Ability to achieve a car-like finish using industrial paints.
• Proficiency in reading masking drawings and coating details.
• Knowledge of surface preparation techniques, coating types, and application methods.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and instructions.
• Willingness to adhere to safety protocols and guidelines at all times.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required by project schedules.

Industrial Painter - Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification or training in industrial painting techniques and safety procedures.
• Experience working in industrial settings such as oil refineries, chemical plants, or offshore installations.
• Familiarity with other industrial coating standards and specifications.
• Experience with other types of coating application equipment and techniques.
