Could you be our next Industrialisation Quality Leader?

The role will be based out of Leeds factory (ETO) in UK as a Quality Engineer to support production line ramp-up in term of quality and robustness and would closely work with Industrialisation team of Power System Business Unit in France and be part of New Product development project

Main Role as IQL:
  • Guarantee that the Voice of the Customer is well translated and ranked in term of criticality (parts and sub-assemblies)
  • Support and train project team on methods and tools needed to reach robustness, capability and Quality risks management
  • Ensure quality level of each component, Sub-Assembly and manufacturing process at each Stage Gate
  • Identify and report to project management any Quality risk
  • Lead the Quality issues resolution in applying the appropriate methods and tools
  • Transfer quality datas for parts and process to suppliers and plant

Key responsibilities for processes:
  • Lead Process FMEA, follow up and actions plan for reaching the Target RPN matrix.
  • Ensure the Quality items of the Process Qualification Plan and Report (incl. Control means, KPI)
  • Create the Process Quality Control Plan (PQCP) to be delivered to plant for its Process Control Plan.
  • Identify Mandatory Requirements for each Process line and ensure their completion

Key responsibilities for Parts
  • Create and up-date the Component Risk Dashboard
  • Lead the Risk Analysis for each component characteristic.
  • Insure completion of MCSV (Mechanical Component and Subassembly Verification) process and files
  • Define the Component Quality Control Plan (CQCP) including control tools needs
  • Audit supplier process when needed
  • Ensure the PPEP (Parts Evaluation Plan) leadership and its stage gate reviews
  • Validate the Incoming Control Plan of the plant.
  • Identify Mandatory Requirements for each component (process and control) and ensure their completion

Main role as Quality Engineer:
You will safeguard customer satisfaction
  • You work alongside quality team at Lead plant. As a team, we make sure that the quality of our products, and the materials we receive, meet Schneider standards. The plant is working according to the LEAN philosophy.
  • You will experience a variable workday, where we take all necessary actions to make sure that our products and services satisfy customer requirements.
  • You will meet a strong collaboration both within the plant, as well as externally with R&D and front office organizations or directly with the end customer.
Identify, correct and implement new quality tools and launch improvement projects.
  • You collaborate with our production department to identify quality issues in production.
  • You ensure that quality control is conducted according to specified control points, and you evaluate both incoming components and finished goods, just as you conduct analyses and implement corrective or preventive actions.
  • Often, this means getting into the details yourself to measure or visually inspect elements.

Your daily tasks:
  • Ensure that the requirements for the quality control of products and processes are following our quality control plan, and that we have the means to mitigate any quality issues
  • Make sure that workers are adequately trained and follow quality instructions
  • Follow up on KPIs during daily Performance board meetings and animate/conduct systematic problem solving in the production/assembly process
  • Convey our quality results to the production teams. This includes reject rates, nonconformities, suggesting continuous quality improvements, and developing both existing and new products
Qualifications:
Education:
Technical Engineering degree within those disciplines: Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronic

Experience:
Mandatory experience of 5 years minimum in manufacturing field like:
  • Plant experiences in Quality position (Supplier and/or Process)
  • Quality role in development project

Skills:
  • Quality skills and methods such those needed for Green Belt (Risks management, animation, Metrology, 8D, 5 Why, Pareto, Isochronous, FMEA). Statistics / Six Sigma
  • Technologies (material, plastic & metallic parts processes, assembly, automation, ...)
  • Knowledge on industrial design, and ISO Standard
  • Relationship oriented (suppliers, plants, projects)
  • English is must, French is advantage

Mindset:
  • Strong autonomy. Team spirit. Leadership to push the voice of industrialisation inside the project, with our internal factories, as well with suppliers
  • Motivated self-starter, able to work in parallel on multiple activities & project

Travel:
  • Regular UK, Europe and worldwide trip (frequency based on project phase) at our suppliers and factories
  • Between 6 and 12 months will be spent in mission in France (Grenoble) to launch the equipment manufacturing at supplier before reception at Leeds factory
