An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bath Spa University in the newly created role of Information Governance Lead and DataProtection Officer. In this unique and important role, you will Lead and manage the delivery of the University’s approach to Information Governance, including Data Protection, freedom of information and records management.
About the Role
As our primary expert and institutional lead on Information Governance, you will develop strategy and implement initiatives, systems and processes to proactively manage information compliance risks and embed a culture of effective Information Governance across the institution.
You will also fulfil the statutory duties of Data Protection Officer (DPO), oversee responses to statutory information requests, manage the process and review of Data Protection impact assessments and Data processing agreements and provide expert advice on all things pertaining to Information Governance and compliance.
About You
We would like to hear from you if you meet the following criteria for this role:
- Extensive knowledge and application of the Data Protection legal regime, Freedom of Information legislation, information security standards, ICO guidance and related legislation.
- Practical experience of Data Protection and information compliance management, operating at strategic and operational level, from drafting data processing, sharing and transfer agreements, and advising on privacy, consent and complex data management issues, to managing data security incidents.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and administrative skills, with good knowledge of IT systems and able to work across teams and work to tight deadlines.
Additional Information
Salary: £46,974 to 54,395 per annum (Grade 8A)
