What you'll be doing

We are looking for an Information Governance Officer to uphold the integrity and security of CHP's information within the data protection and Information Governance team by ensuring compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. Acting as the primary point of contact for individual information rights and Access to Information requests, advocate for privacy by design and Information Governance best practices. Contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust governance culture within CHP.

  • Serve as the primary contact for data protection and Information Governance matters, offering expert guidance on individual information rights requests and Access to Information requests. Ensure compliance with statutory obligations, produce clear responses, and enhance processes.
  • Assist individuals in clarifying and refining their information requests, working collaboratively across departments to gather necessary information and understand request scope.
  • Deliver data protection and Information Governance training, collaborating on development and delivery.
  • Support the reporting and analysis of data incidents, contributing to investigations and advising on risk reduction strategies.
  • Stay abreast of Information Governance and data protection legislation, case law, and guidance.

Requirements

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in data protection and/or Information Governance, including complaint handling and delivering quality service.
  • Thorough understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation.
  • Proficiency in identifying, comprehending, and articulating principles of data protection and Information Governance legislation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of influencing positive changes.
  • Consistent collaboration across the organisation, supporting colleagues and upholding high standards.
