VIQU are seeking a Infrastructure Engineer to join a multinational IT business that specialise in providing a broad spectrum of IT services and solutions, from IT consulting and system integrations to cloud services and e-commerce solutions.
As a Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be responsible for delivering advanced technical assistance to clients, ensuring the swift handling of incidents, service requests, and updates. Acting as a key escalation point for lower-tier support, you'll maintain effective communication channels. Your role will encompass accurate documentation management, providing guidance to team members, collaborating on technical designs and implementations, and offering on-site support as needed. Committed to exceeding performance targets, you'll actively contribute to operational support and foster collaborations with various business units. Your proactive stance involves suggesting continuous enhancements and identifying potential opportunities during assessments of client infrastructures.
Requirements of the Infrastructure Engineer:
- Minimum 3 years in 3rd line technical support.
- Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and networking (DNS, DHCP, switches, routers).
- Expertise in Wintel environment and Windows desktop operating systems.
- Proven experience with core Infrastructure technologies, including Terminal Services, IIS, SharePoint, firewalls, databases, backup, and security software.
- Expertise in supporting Dell and HP server/blade hardware.
- Familiarity with Microsoft, Dell, HP, or NetApp SAN storage systems is advantageous.
- Good knowledge of VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Holds two or more industry-recognized certifications (e.g., AZ-, MS-, CCA, VCP, CCNA, CCDA)
- Proven experience in problem management and root cause analysis.
- Ability to excel in a busy helpdesk environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
