The IT Infrastructure Support Engineer Role:
We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to provide IT support on Infrastructure based technologies. The role also requires a focus and knowledge of IT security, in terms of vulnerability management, patching and securing the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Taking ownership of various tasks involved in the implementation, support and security patching of Warehouse and Head Office network infrastructure equipment.
+ Participating in IS projects where applicable ensuring assigned tasks are completed in line with deadlines.
+ As part of the Networking Infrastructure team, handling relevant support escalations from the Helpdesk and ensuring a timely resolution.
+ Assisting with security audits (SOX, PCI), both ensuring the infrastructure is secure and patched, but also submitting required evidence and documentation.
+ Managing and liaising with 3rd party providers such as hardware / software vendors and network service providers.
About You:
+ Experience of working in medium to large IT business environments, managing the many
core infrastructure components and thousands of endpoints
+ Strong skills and experience of Windows technologies and Operating Systems such as
Windows 10 / 11, Windows Server and Active Directory
+ Good understanding of firewalls, VPN, virtualisation (VMWare / ESX preferred), Azure
+ Hands on technical experience with IT security with the ability to secure the infrastructure
and also deal with security incidents
+ Experience with Cisco technologies such as SD Wan, switches, routers, Access Points and VoIP
+ IBM iSeries experience desirable but not essential
+ Good communication skills, both verbal and written
You must be a team player, self-motivated and possess good communication skills, both verbal and written. Willingness to travel and flexibility to work unsociable hours is a must. An attention to detail with good organisational skills is also required.
