Do you have experience with network security products and countermeasure techniques? If so, we have a great opportunity to join our exceptional IT department as an Infrastructure Engineer!
This role offers a hybrid of office and home working (the option to work part of your week from home becomes available after completion of an initial training period).
You will need to be located within a commutable distance from our Claverton Down, Bath office as being able to work collaboratively with our business stakeholders and project teams is key to this role.
What you'll do
As an Infrastructure Engineer, you will be helping to provide a high level of proactive and reactive skills and actions to ensure the Wessex Water infrastructure is stable and supported, particularly in your areas of responsibility.
You will ensure knowledge sharing through multiple means including appropriate and effective documentation.
You will also support certificate-based authentication and encryption, as well as managing and maintaining digital certificates, including certificate authorities, root certificates and intermediate certificates.
The department utilises ITIL best practice principles, and the role holder will be expected to follow these processes to ensure a good level of customer service.
What you'll need
Ideally, you will have experience in:
- design, implement, administer, and support PKI systems and services, such as Microsoft Certificate Services, OpenSSL, Entrust, etc
- managing and monitoring the performance, availability, security and compliance of PKI systems and services, and ensuring they meet the service level agreements (SLAs)
- implementing and maintaining security controls and policies for PKI systems and services, such as encryption, authentication, authorization, auditing, backup and recovery
- documenting and communicating PKI systems and services design, configuration, operation and maintenance.
If you are interested in becoming an Infrastructure Engineer with PKI certificate management skills, you may need to have the following qualifications and skills:
- experience in designing, building, managing and supporting infrastructure technologies, solutions and services that use PKI
- knowledge of PKI tools, platforms and vendors, such as Microsoft Certificate Services, OpenSSL, Entrust, etc
- knowledge of scripting and automation tools, such as PowerShell
- knowledge of cloud computing and virtualization technologies, such as Azure, VMware, etc
- knowledge of IT service management frameworks, such as ITIL
- excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving and analytical skills
Additionally, you'll be excellent at communicating with all levels of the business and be a great team player.
We will expect you to have some experience working in an ITIL support environment, while also being comfortable working unsupervised and exceptional at managing/planning your own workload.
