Job description

Are you a vulnerability management specialist looking to work for one of the UK's largest charities?
About the role
As our Vulnerability Manager, you’ll work with our Information Security team and will play a key role in ensuring the security and resilience of British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) information systems by managing and mitigating vulnerabilities across our IT infrastructure and applications.
You’ll work with a variety of internal and external teams to identify, prioritise, and remediate vulnerabilities, as well as monitor and report on the effectiveness of our vulnerability management program.
You’ll also contribute to the development and improvement of our vulnerability management policies, standards, and processes, and provide guidance and training to relevant teams.
If you have a passion for information security and a proven track record in vulnerability management, we would love to hear from you.
Working arrangements
Please note this is a fixed term contract for 20 months.

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

At BHF we believe in the power of being together, so our colleagues on blended contracts can expect to spend some time in their office, at least one day each week, on average. The use of our office spaces is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do. This may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to unlock your best work for our cause.

Need more help balancing your work and home life? Talk to us about what flexibility is available at the application or interview stage.
About you
With a solid understanding of vulnerability management you will be able to work independently, formulate plans and deliver them.
A team player who enjoys working with others to achieve the team goals, you’ll also have experience of the following:
• Extensive experience in vulnerability management, information security, or IT operations.
• Proficient in using vulnerability management tools such as, but not limited to Qualys, Rapid7, Tenable and similar, and familiar with various operating systems and applications.
• Experience in deploying applications and configuration changes via Intune, SCCM or similar device management tools.
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies, risk management frameworks, and compliance standards, such as CVSS, Cyber Essentials Plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organisational, and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
About us
At British Heart Foundation, we are focused on the urgent need to fund more research into heart and circulatory diseases like heart diseases, stroke, vascular dementia and the conditions that cause them, to find answers fit for 21st century challenges. We are independent, have more than fifty years of breakthroughs under our belts and we won’t stop until we beat heartbreak forever.

We value and respect every individual’s unique contribution, celebrate diversity, and make inclusion part of what we do every day.
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy, Igniting Change, along with our internal EDI group, Kaleidoscope, and a growing number of employee network groups (our Affinity Groups), help us create an environment where all our colleagues and volunteers can succeed.
Interview process
Interviews will be held over Microsoft Teams.
