Role: Installer Technician

Location: Ashford

Hours: Monday – Friday on the road & must be prepared to stay away from home on a regular basis, will also need to work up to 2 weekends per month on overtime.

An  opportunity has now arisen for an Installer Technician  to join our client’s successful team in Ashford.

About the role:

The main role will be to deliver, position & install high value Medical systems including but not limited to, MRI, CT Scanners and Linear Accelerators. You will be expected to assist in other High Tech areas of our business of delivering and positioning Customer equipment. While the role is prominently UK and Ireland based, there will be occasionally travel required through Europe.

You will also be expected, when not installing medical devices to assist with delivering, offloading and positioning of other Customer equipment as required within the UK and occasionally Europe.

You must have a full UK driving licence.

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Loading and offloading of high value medical devices – (CT, MRI etc)
  • Delivering and positioning of devices on NHS & Private sector sites
  • Running system cables to various locations within the site room, including across ceiling or underfloor. Sometimes working at height or in confined spaces (training given)
  • Aligning and bolting down devices and/or suspending from ceiling as modality requires
  • Working closely with OEM Field Engineer during installation to ensure installation is completed on time
  • Escalating internally any issues on site
  • Position, install and cable various customer systems
  • General driving / delivery duties as required within the UK and Europe
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles in the warehouse & on customer sites
  • Delivery, offloading and positioning as required
  • Manual handling, carrying and lifting as required of customer product
  • Completing delivery paperwork, timesheets and other reports/paperwork as required for each job
  • Other tasks as required by the Installation Manager

Skills & experience:

  • Experience of mechanical or electrical installation
  • Experienced driver with clean licence
  • An aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Must be very flexible with regards to hours and be prepared to stay away from home on a regular basis
  • Prepared to work up to 2 weekends per month on an overtime rate
  • Good team member with a flexible and can-do attitude
  • Must be flexible with regards to weekend working
  • Be comfortable with a fluid schedule
  • Good team member who can also work on own initiative
  • Experience in dealing directly with customer contacts and good communication skills
  • Be prepared for regular heavy work, working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Ability to complete required timesheets and paperwork as needed
  • Good general level of education
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English, written and speaking
