The I&C Engineer will provide I&C engineering support.
The Instrument & Controls Engineer will operate as a key member of the project team bringing experience in I&C and systems engineering to the team, whilst also supporting bid work by scoping the engineering tasks for the proposed work.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the I&C/systems engineering aspects of projectsWork with customers and other stakeholders to develop technical solutions within a nuclear Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) environment.Drafting and estimating the I&C/systems engineering aspects of bid workApplying appropriate systems engineering practice on projectsGenerating and maintaining high quality documentation and gaining formal review approval for releaseUse of systems engineering tools for requirements management, design modelling etcSupporting representations of project systems engineering to the project or customer communityAdvising or mentoring less–experienced team members, including graduates or apprentices, on I&C/systems engineering mattersProvide technical leadership in specified areas for the team and the company as a wholeDrafting concise and accurate technical reports, requirements specifications as required meeting the specific needs of the deployed equipmentSupporting other engineering or related disciplines as required, e.g. design, production or testContribution to ongoing development and improvement of engineering/business processesAny other relevant duties as and when requiredExperience needed:
Degree (or equivalent) qualified engineer, preferably in electrical/electronic or Control EngineeringExperience of I&C and systems engineering or design.Ability to work with multiple tasks, set priorities and make decisionsGood presentation, oral and written communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively across a broad range of technical and business disciplines within industry
Desirable:
Experience in the Defence / Aerospace or safety regulated environment would be advantageousSystems integration experienceFamiliarity with the ONR SAPs and TAGs would be an advantageGood knowledge of systems engineering processes, standards and methodologies (e.g., IEC 15288, UML)Good knowledge of DOORS for requirements managementChartered or Incorporated Engineer with membership (or working towards membership) of a relevant institution would be an advantageKnowledge of safety system design in accordance with IEC 61508 or similar safety standards (IEC 61513, IEC 61226For full information, please get in touch!
