Form of workMorrison Energy services is currently looking to recruit Health and Safety Advisor to work on our National Gas Asset Health framework. This role will be based across a large area and travel will be required. The role will provide Health & Safety support to our operational teams, who work across various frameworks delivering project for our clients.
As a Health and Safety Advisor you will be a key part of our SHEQ team who provide expert advice, assistance and guidance with regards to the management of health, safety and environmental issues.
As a Health & Safety Advisor your duties & responsibilities will be:
- Assist and advise the operational and management team to further develop the management systems and operational practices
- Support, review and aid the population of construction phase plans, environmental plans, review contractors RAMS
- Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g. risk assessments, risk management, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational health
- Assist with the development of SHE management systems
- Liaison with external bodies including the Health and Safety Executive, Clients and other stakeholders as directed by the SHE Manager
- Support incident management & investigation process
- Produce toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHE training materials about Health and Safety issues and risks.
- Monitor trade contractors via site inspection and management audit
- Act as a role model at all times in support of the MES Gas construction visions, priorities and values
- Consistently demonstrate high standards of safety behaviour, leading by example and promoting safety culture
- Previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a construction environment (Utilities experience desirable)
- Knowledge and experience of Temporary Works management
- Ability to influence at all levels
- Ability to manage potential conflict during site inspections with operational teams
- Capable of delivering confident articulate presentations
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office - Word, Powerpoint, Excel
- NEBOSH General or Construction
- NRSWA qualification and Utility SHEA Gas Passport is desirable
- Full driving licence and willingness to travel is essential
- Knowledge of SCO91 is preferable but not essential
