Nuclear Restoration Services Limited (NRS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). NRS is responsible for decommissioning first generation nuclear power stations Berkeley, Bradwell, Chapelcross, Dungeness A, Hinkley Point A, Hunterston A, Oldbury, Sizewell A, Trawsfynydd and Wylfa, and research sites Harwell and Winfrith. NRS is also responsible for electricity generation at hydroelectric plant Maentwrog. As a division of NRS, NRS Dounreay is responsible for the clean-up and demolition of the former centre of fast reactor research and development.

"This is an exciting opportunity to join the Hunterston A Site Maintenance team in the capacity of the C&I (Control & Instrumentation) Maintenance Technician. You will be part of a multi-discipline team and will be responsible for maintaining equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems, machinery, and processes. You will be responsible for carrying out maintenance, investigation and rectification of plant and equipment defects to ensure we maintain a safe and compliant site.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader you will be responsible for:
Carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on control and instrumentation assets including pressure transmitters, level detection, thermal couples, calibration of instruments etc.
Ensuring maintenance plans and targets are achieved safely and within environmental parameters of the power station.
Fault finding and diagnosis of plant.
Follow written work instructions for maintenance tasks.
Be willing to work within contaminated areas, wearing full face mask.
On occasion there will be a requirement to work at height.
Qualifications and Experience:
HNC Instrumentation and Controls (essential).
Ability to read and understand a full range of engineering drawings (essential).
Experience of working within the Nuclear, Pharmaceutical, Process, Oil & Gas, Plant or Power Generation industries (desirable).
Be determined to succeed with a positive "Can-Do" attitude.
Understanding of health and safety and permit to work, work environment.

The equivalent of 25 days (185 hours per year) annual leave plus Public Holidays (59.2 hours per year). This increases by 2 days (14.8 hours per year) annual leave after two full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year) , and an additional 3 days (22.2 hours per year) annual leave after five full calendar years of service (as at 5th January in the leave year). You also have the option to buy or sell the equivalent of 5 days (37 hours) annual leave each year (available in specific windows for the following holiday year).
