We are seeking a Technical Handler to join our team, providing essential support in the vehicle repair process following incidents. The role involves acting as a liaison between claimants, repairers, and other relevant parties, ensuring a smooth and efficient repair journey. This position requires a candidate with motor claims insurance industry experience and a keen eye for detail.
Day to day of the role:- Assist claimants in having their vehicle repairs undertaken from the point of the incident to the completion of repair work.
- Act as a liaison between all relevant parties involved in the repair process.
- Arrange recovery of non-drivable vehicles if required.
- Allocate vehicles to appropriate repairers and manage any rejections.
- Keep drivers and clients updated on the repair process.
- Check and confirm appropriate policy excesses.
- Process estimates, supplementary estimates, and invoices.
- Authorise estimates within authority limits and escalate to engineers when necessary.
- Handle engineers’ queries and chase engineers and repairers as needed.
- Update claim statuses and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate effectively with contractors and business partners via phone and email.
- Motor claims insurance industry experience is essential.
- Understanding of the Audatex estimating system is an advantage.
- Knowledge of motor vehicle damage estimation is beneficial.
- Admin experience is preferred but not essential.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
- Hold or willing to achieve the CII Certificate in Insurance (Cert CII) within the first 18 months of employment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain rapport with key business stakeholders.
- Good communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to follow set procedures and work under pressure.
- Computer literacy with good keyboard skills.
- Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.
- Flexible approach to work and adaptability to new working practices.
