Position Summary


As an IP Paralegal in Schneider Electric’s Legal Intellectual Property Team, you will join a talented and collaborative group of in-house lawyers and legal professionals to support the Global Intellectual Property Transactions Team. This role will report to the Associate General Counsel, Global IP Transactions, and support the group of in-house lawyers (based respectively in France, Belgium, US and India) with legal operations.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide support to IP Counsels with collection and review of IP related materials as part the due diligence process in divestitures, mergers and acquisitions; help generate and prepare IP due diligence reports;
  • Manage the intra-company licensing programs (both for trademarks and technologies), as well as the intra-company R&D Services program, under the supervision of IP Counsel;
  • Assist with contract management and uploading of agreements to IP assets (patent, trademark and design) management tool;
  • Assist with identifying tool and defining process for document management;
  • Handle document formalities including in execution, notarization and legalization of documents;
  • Provide support to manage budget of the Global IP Transactions team;
  • Assist IP Counsels in investigating IP claims and gathering evidence in support of contentious matters and updating the IP litigation reporting tool.

Qualifications:

Qualifications - Required Experience

  • 10+ years experience as an IP Paralegal, in an IP Law Firm, IP Consulting Firm, or IP Corporate environment dealing with IP transactional matters and agreements.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate qualifications.
  • Expertise in international Intellectual Property law.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • English and French (read, spoken, written) essential.

Preferences


  • 5+ years in-house experience
  • Experience with IP Due Diligence in Mergers and Acquisitions
  • Experience with IP litigation
  • Good technical knowledge
  • Working knowledge of IP asset management tools

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
