SalaryEIA is seeking a skilled Intelligence Analyst to join EIA’s Intelligence and Investigations Unit, supporting EIA’s projects on the illegal wildlife trade (IWT) and other environmental crimes.
Role purpose:
The Intelligence Analyst will collate, manage and analyse intelligence on organised transnational environmental crime and illicit financial flows. The analyst will be responsible for producing a number of different outputs in written form, which may be supported by diagrams, charts and maps. Outputs are directed to internal and external stakeholders in line with campaign aims and used to inform investigation priorities and provide insight into campaign strategies. The Intelligence Analyst will also be required to provide intelligence capacity building for partners.
About you:
The ideal candidate will have experience working on investigations in an intelligence capacity, analysing information to produce outputs. They will be required to provide comprehensive intelligence support to EIA’s investigators and to external partners, which will sometimes require travel at short notice. They will be able to work well within a team and be committed to improving intelligence and investigation capacity within focus countries.
What we offer:
This is a full time, fixed term role for one year, with the possibility of an extension depending on funding availability.
You will receive a salary of £33,000 to £36,500 per annum (pro rata) dependent on experience. Benefits include 25 days holiday with additional days off between Christmas and New Year and additional days for long service, as well as flexible and hybrid working arrangements and a mental health and wellbeing support programme.

About us
Quite simply, we investigate and campaign against environmental crime and abuse. Our undercover investigations expose transnational wildlife crime, with a focus on elephants, pangolins and tigers and forest crimes such as illegal logging and deforestation for cash crops such as palm oil. We work to safeguard global marine ecosystems by addressing the threats posed by plastic pollution, bycatch and commercial exploitation of whales, dolphins and porpoises. Finally, we reduce the impact of climate change by campaigning to eliminate powerful refrigerant greenhouse gases, exposing related illicit trade and improving energy efficiency in the cooling sector. We use our findings in hard-hitting reports to campaign for improved governance and more effective enforcement. Our field experience is used to provide guidance to enforcement agencies and we form partnerships with local groups and activists and support their work through hands-on training.
