Intelligence Researcher - Specialist InvestigationsWMCTU Northern Hub

Grade E

£25,713  - £29,874

The post is within the WMCTU Northern Hub (Formally known as Special Branch) and is located at Police HQ, Weston Road, Stafford. Given the nature of this role the post-holder may be required to work for periods of time from other locations across the region.

Personnel who are appointed to the role of Intelligence Researcher within the Northern Hub will work as part of a team within Counter Terrorism Policing West Midlands in order to manage, coordinate and develop intelligence ensuring that it is disseminated in the appropriate manner to the relevant organisations / departments.

The Researcher is responsible for obtaining and evaluating information from a diverse array of overt, discrete and covert information sources to aid intelligence assessment. Research findings are accurately and appropriately documented with a view to developing intelligence products that are compliant with the National Intelligence Model (NIM).

Special Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Undergo full high level security clearance (Developed Vetting)
  • Undertake specialist training which will be provided for the role as highlighted in the Training Needs Analysis.
  • Undertake continuous professional development and attend training course as required within the role

This post is a full time position, mainly working Monday to Friday, however due to the nature of the role, an acceptance of flexible working is required which may include weekend working on occasions.

  • Strong written and oral communication.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • The ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and in accordance with policy.
